Only one post

It is 31st January and this is my second post this year. What a shame! I feel guilty for not trying to motivate  myself to do some posting.

Hope that 2016  will be more creative as my New Year's resolution is to enjoy life more.

Happy New Year!

ART JOURNALING - Home, Dom, Srce, Heart and 2015

About six months ago while visiting Serbia, I came across lovely journalling tutorials on YouTube. I was amazed. I just wanted to try it.

Since then I have been collecting material and courage.
Finally, today, I did a page.

WARNING: I AM NOT AN ARTIST

My first page is about my home town Nis, in Serbia.  Simply a sketch of the Nis Fortress in pencil and pens lead to cutting out the image and gluing it on the page with the clear shine glue medium.

The next step that should have been the first actually was to cover the page with white gesso.
Once the page dried I played with  gel sticks from Faber Castell (mostly white and black) and Black Soot Distress ink from Tim  Holtz. I also edged the page with a tin black marker and smudged some silver metallic paste against the edges.

In  the end, using black and white markers, I wrote those 4 magic words  and  sprinkled some white acrylic paint over the page.

The final result is the  picture which has  that winter sky grey feeling.

The feeling of achievement is lovely especially, after I have touched the page. It feels like touching a canvas.
And on the final thought, I do hope that 2015 will bring lots of new and lovely things.

Hobby Art Vintage Stamps

Hobby Art Vintage stamps have caught my imagination recently.

With good quality and versatility, these stamps with a little imagination can make you go far.

These are the results that I have achieved with them and they are very very beautiful.

The card for Steve

Weather it is due to laziness or  lack of mojo, but I haven't written and posted on my blog  for good 4 months.  Shame on me!!! None of the previously mentioned is not a good excuse not to be active.

During that time I made some very lovely cards which I will post later, but  to start with is to start with the best I have made in long long time, and it is the card for Steve.
I was asked to make a card for him, but  honestly, they should not have asked me as I was to make one anyway.

Steve is a gentleman who was very closely working with us, with the whole team and he was one of those particular parts of the chain that team couldn't work without.
So, Steve did deserve the card for himself to be special, but not pathetic like:'Oh, I am so sorry you are leaving'. It was card that reflected Steve the person, a gentleman who likes to work.

I used Debbi Moore products for this card and I am very happy that it came so beautiful.

Valentine's Is Again.

Some people are lucky to receive more than one card for St Valentine's, and one of those is my other half who received two.

The first one was a Bebunni card just as a teaser and a reminder of the day and the second one  was from Bamboo Panda range. Both of the card were made with tools and materials from CRAFTER'S COMPANION products.

Babies

The very begining of this year started with hearing about babies, babies to come, babies that have already arrived,  ideas of maybe having babies...
So, where's smoke, there is fire, i.e. where there are babies, there are baby cards. As a consequence to all that fuss about them , I decide to make at least one as I am not very experienced in making baby cards.

The card presented is from a Bebunni collection :

The tools and materials used:

  • Crafter's Companion Bebunni Baby Unmounted Rubber Stamp - Bundle of Joy
  • Spectrum Noir pens
  • Kraft card blanks from DO crafts
  • Some embelishments and scraps of paper
Overall, the result is not bad.

Let's try something different

I thought that my mojo would be back, but I was not right. It was still hiding stubbornly somewhere.  The only solution was to try something different and messier and hope of success
It was a right time to try something sunnier and more positive and different from my Christmas cards which does not mean that I don't love making

Lost Mojo

January 2014 was spent in a wish to craft. Most of the time I was fighting with my lack of motivation, my lost mojo, and lots other things irrelevant to this blog.

There were very big breaks between my little projects. In this posting you'll see just few that I have made

After I had made this birthday card for my brother in December 2013, I completely stopped.

I did enjoy making it and it was easy.

The ingredients used for this card:

  • Time flies - Debbi Moore CD
  • Neenah card - Crafter's Companion
  • All sorts of Collall glues.

And then, the inspiration struck again, after some time and I made the following two:

I used here frlower stamps from Lili of the Valley, message stamps from DO Crafts, Neenah card  and an embossing folder from Crafter's Companion; and few embelishments.

Both of the project were completely coloured with Spectrum Noir pens and mounted on some kraft card blanks
Having finished them quite easily, I really thought my MOJO was BACK, but it wasn't.

It took me days to sit and do another one ages.

The new card was made in its entirety from a free gift papers from a magazine bought many many moons before.

I just cut them and mat and layered them on withe and card. AS a finishing touch, I sprayed the whole card with the iridescent glue from Crafter's Companion.

X-mas Diva

Christmas Divas - Debbi Moore  is one of my most favourite CD ever. I just love the overall art on it and the way it was one.
The card was easy to make after having printed a backing paper and the image from the CD itself. It took me 15 minutes to make this lovely X-mas card.

Black, Red and Grey

I love this card as it is done in in more or less three colour variations : black, red and grey.
To make it I used LOTV stamp that I stamped on a super smooth card with my alcohol pens. I even coloured the background paper which I embossed and mounted all on black Core'dinations. To spice up I added the sentiment from one of Makey Backey's Chrostmas stam sets.

Not bad at all ;-)

Tool and Materials used:

LOTV image
Spectrum Noir acohol pens ( all ice greys and black, reds: DR3 and DR5)
All Purpose Collall glue
Die'sire Embossalicious X-mas Folder : Mistletoe
Makey Backey X-mas message stamp from one of the stamps
Neenah Solar White card
Some pearls and a snowflake
Core'dinations Card -black

A coffee table decoration

I love the new embossing boards from Crafter's Companion. They are what they are name says  SWEET TREATS.
On one of them I say a triangular shape which made me think :-) and while I was thinking, an idea just came and developed into this small and lovely Christmas decoration :-)

This little project can be used in many different ways. You can hang in on your Christmas tree, use it as a little gift box or just simply intend it for a coffee table. ..

My 2013 Christmas Cards

I am late with Christmas cards this year. Lots of different things distracted me from my favourite hobby: if I wasn’t moving house, cleaning and working, then it was just that I was just too tired to make myself make something and then recording it.
So, this is the chance to show everything that I have made in last few days. The basic material is all the same and mostly from Crafter’s Companion with the few exceptions : Debbi Moore, Tattered Lace, Lili of the Valley and DO crafts basic card blanks. All small embellishments come from different little sources.

The frist set of cards is from Crafter's Companion:
  • SWALK stamps,
  • Makey Bakey Christmas stamps

The second set of cards is from Lili of the Valley

It was fun using these in conjunction with Spectrum Noir pens and Crafter's Companion embossing folders. Love the final results.

The third set is Debbi Moore's Christmas Divas CD.

I just love these and could not resist to have a go. The final result is gorgeous and these easel cards just stand different.

This green is my favourite one.

And, the last fourth set was made with the Tattred Lace Christmas dies.
I also used Crafter's Companion embossing folders and Xmas stams from the same company.
