NEW YEAR – NEW CALENDAR

The start of a new year comes always with a new calendar. And this year is not any different from the previous two when I made different calendars for my friends and myself.
But, unlike the previous two years when I tended to complicate things and make my little calendars 3D challenging ( from decorating twelve different pages to making easel card calendars), this time I  went completely simple by using a  sheet of A4 and simple scoring and folding on my embossing boards and Ultimate Pro.

For magic ingredients I used:

  • Brown cardstock
  • Ultimate Pro from CC
  • Urban stamps from DO crafts
  • Mirri card- gold
  • Some old inkpads for distressing
  • Cuttlebug
  • Darice embossing folder
  • Gold gems
  • Collal silicone glue.

Mince Pies

There is a lesson that I have learnt this year and it is not to make Christmas cards too early.  It cost me my mojo that disappeared in the late October.

To make anything turned into a struggle. Finally, after having felt guilty and uninspired, I managed to find my mojo.

It came back in a big style and I made this card for my 'other half' with lots of love.

The magical ingridients are:
  • Ultimatepro - Crafter's Companion
  • Spectrum Noir pens - Crafter's Companion
  • SWALK Winter Cheer stamp - I love mince pies
  • Some organza ribbon
  • Centura Pearl card - Crafter's Companion
  • Papermaina Christmas paper 2010 from DO Crafts, and
  • Lots of love and magic.
Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

My First Attempt

It has been long since I thought I would try and make a piece of jewellery. The last attempt was unsuccessful four years ago. I tried to make a pair of earings but it did not end well with all the material - excluding beads themselves, everything was squeezed and deformed too much.

I tried again yesterday, after some weeks of thingking intensely. The drive was there....just the right moment that was missing. And it did happen. Out of blue.

These earings were easy to make and
will be followed by more.....

Just for You

Another fantastic stamp from SWALK that was crying COLOUR ME!!! This little easel card is an easy make. To make a similar one you will need: a die of some shape dear to you, some backing papers, a nicely stamped and coloured image, some embelishments and glitter spray.
What I used were the following products:
  • SWALK Winter Cheer Collection CD for backing/design papers
  • A SWALK's A PERFECT GIFT stamp
  • Spectrum Noir pens
  • Spray and Sparkle - iredescent from Crafter's Companion
  • Nesting dies - Flower - X-cut from DOcrafts
  • Roses from TheWorks
  • Silver card
  • Tim Hotz's distress ink - Peeled paint
  • Just for You stamp from DOcrafts
  • Little green ribbon from Papermania Capsule Collection from DOcrafts
I cut out the flower shape as a card base and silver card layers. Then I cut out some smaller pieces from the backing paper, distressed them with some green ink and sprayed with iridescent glitter glue. After forming a little easel, I assembled all the parts of the card. Finally, I attatched the image (previously stamped, coloured  and cut out) and embelished the card with some roses, a ribbon and a little ''Just for You' sentiment.

Oh, there is a little secret. Last night I didn't colour the girl's hair well. Though the card was cute, I WAS NOT HAPPY.  After thinking and thinking what to do, it just clicked in my head. The simplest solution of all. I stamped the girl's head, coloured, cut it out and used it as a decoupage.

Cold Hands - Warm Heart

Winter is coming, bringing all the magic with it: cold feet, mittens and scarves, frozen noses, warm homes and love. Love never stops to exist even during this season.

This card is for all of those who believe in the magic. It is for engagement or dating, wedding or anniversary, or just simply expression of love.

Magic ingredients for this card are:
  • SWALK winter stamp
  • Spectrum Noir pens
  • Core'dinations
  • Roses from the Works
  • DOcrafts X-Cut Scalloped Heart Die
  • And, lots of love.

Love & Hugs

I do not know  how people create their  cards - whether they plan them in advance or they just start in order to see where their creativity is going to lead.

I belong to the second group, just letting myself  wander around taking unexpected turns and decisions. It usually ends with good results.

This project is one of many of those that have such a life. I just started with stamping and colouring the image. It resulted into a meaningful expression of my own idea what love is.

Magical ingredients:

  • Humphrey 's  stamp collection 2
  • Spectrum Noir pens
  • Brown cardstock
  • Some old piece of some old Papermania collection of papers from DOcrafts
  • Some flowers from The Works
  • Cotton ribbon .

WORLD CARDMAKING DAY -Crafter's Companion Challenge - Little Angels

Little Angels

Being in love with these two little Humphrey Angels just fuelled me up to make this card. Techniques used for this project are the following: stamping and colouring, matting and layering, embossing with Cuttlebug and glittering.

Materials used:

·         Humphrey’s Christmas stamps
·         Spectrum Noir pens
·         The Snowman for backing paper
·         Darice embossing folder – Snowflakes
·         Glitter from The Works
·         Spray & Sparkle – Iridescent
·         Neenah card

SPECTRUM NOIRS

This lovely image is coloured with Spectrum Noir pens whose result was so good that I decided to cover a card with one of the backing papers from a Crafter's Companion CD (sorry, I cannot remember which one it was), glitter the edges and stamp a message. And the card was ready   in no time.

A Little and Inexpensive Gift

There are situations when it is very difficult to find a gift  which is not too much in value, but adquate enough to express either our respect, support or something else.

A small postie note pad is such a gift - inexpensive, but worth.
To make the one posted here, I used:
  • Humphrey's Stamp Collection 2 - Lottie
  • Spectrum Noir pens
  • Pink ribbon
  • Brown 240 grm card stock
  • Pink 240 grm cardstock
  • Cheap postie pad from a supermarket ( I cannot remember which)
Score the brown card ( 8.5 cm x 18 cm)  on the longer side at 8.5cm and at 9.5cm. Then  cut twice two pink pieces to measure 7.5cm x 7.5 cm and  twice two brown pieces to measure 7cm x 7cm. Layer them on the scored card on which  the pink ribbon has been attached first. In the end embelish the little gift with the coloured stamped image and  attache the postie pad in it.

  • Designer paper.

A Stationary Set

Crafter's Companion's  new boards with the construction DVD are fantastic. There is no thing that you cannot make. I started playing and the results of the play were this lovely stationary box, with an easy notelet and an easel card.

Once everything constructed, it was easy to decorate with some designer paper and a stamped image from the latest Crafter's Companion's   HUMPHREY CD and stamps collection.

Fairyopolis - POPPY FAIRY

I was blown away when I saw FAIRYOPOLIS on Create & Craft TV. Magnificent and beautiful.

This Poppy Fairy captured my imagination with its colour of red. Red is my favourite colour. It didn't take me long to print a sheet of beautiful script  backing paper on my modest inkjet printer and a decoupage Poppy Fairy image.
After having cut out everything, I distressed the paper and  free hand cut  swirls; and glued everything on my square card (square cards are my weakness).
The image was embelished with three pink roses previously distressed with aged mahogony ink.

To conclude with:
Ingridients:
Fairyopolis CD from Crafter's Companion
Tim Holtz's Tea Dye, Peeled Paint and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks
Embelishments: Roses

Pets and Bags

I am not a great fashionista, but couldn't resist these lovely pets in nice bags. These stamps come from  one of the latest collections from Design Objectives: PAMPERED PETS.

Both  are very affordable and gave me an enormous pleasure to work with and make nice little cards. DO Crafts products were used entirely through both of the little projects with the exeption of   Promarkers used for colouring.

Blue Lady and Golden Boy share the same principles of card making. After I have stamped the images, coloured them with Promarkers, and  glittered  and mounted them on the square cards layered with different papers. The final touches were some buttons, a flower and a ladybird.

Kiss

Playing with Crafter's Companion SWALK  new collection is fantastic. It is so beautiful to work with them.
My favourite is the KISS stamp plate. It was not difficult to work with it.

Make a gate fold card ( using your Ultimate Pro or whatever you have) and stamp over the folds. Colour the images with Promarkers and decorate with papers inside and outside the card. Punch some paper flowers, edge them with some pink ink. Glue them on the folds which can also be decorated with some green gems too.

Stamp the image once again. Colour it,  cut it out with your Cuttlebug and stick it inside after it has been edged with some pink in. The card is ready.
Ingridients:
  • Cardstock
  • UltimatePro
  • Designer papers or SWALK CDs
  • Promarkers
  • Pink ink
  • Cuttlebug

Blue Valentine Popcorn

Valentine's here again, so I have decided to make it blue for my husband this year. And it works well, especially with that little football embelishment.

This little stepper card is an easy make. Just take a pre-folded square card and fold it into a stepper card. Embelish with some navy card stock, stamped Popcorn and Biscuit, some glitter and gems. The result is a beautiful card.

One more little calendar - Tilda this time

There are so many people I wanted to make a calendar for this year, but I couldn't manage. That's why, I am trying to do it now regardless of being a half way through in February. It is never too late.

A Good Luck Card - Appley Dapply CD and Stamp Set

Crafter's Companion immortalised one more book from the Beatrix Potter Collection. And this new set - Appley Dapply - is so beautiful.  Not only is it for the young, but also for the old as well.

Add caption
One of my colleagues was leaving and I just did not know what card to make. He himself gave me an idea while talking about his late hampster, so I decided in a second to make him a little guinea pig. Oh, what a surprise it was yesterday.
The procedure to make it was easy : Print the papers and inserts from the CD, stamp the image with the black Momento ink pad and colour with Promarkers, cut out backing cards with Cuttlebug, stamp Good Luck, assemble everything  together and tie with a piece of brown organza ribbon.  Finish off with a bit of gold spray over the card.
Ingridients:
  • Appley Dapply CD and a stamp set - Beatrix Potter Collection from Crafter's Companion
  • A sheet of Neenah Classic Crest Card from Crafter's Companion
  • Gold Mirri card
  • Supersmooth printing paper
  • Promarkers
  • Brown organza ribbon
  • Momento ink pad
  • Lots of love

New Year - New Calendar

2011 has started with a need for a new calendar. It is not difficult to make it especially of you have good materials and tools to play with.
TOOLS and MATERIALS

2. Nestabilities (Lables)
3. X-Cut punch - Flower Head
4. LOTV  stamp 'Time for Cuppa'
5.  Promarkers
6. Mini calendar from DOcrafts and card stock - a square card
7. Paper from a Laura Ashley recycled old calendar
